Who's Hiring in Binghamton? Where to Go

Because of this economy, so many people are having to deal with the fact that they must begin searching for a job that will give them that feeling of security and help them become financially independent. Many are opening their own businesses but find themselves in more debt than when they started.

I’ve lived in Binghamton, NY for 15 years. When I moved here, I went to High School and Broome Community college. After college, I began working for local companies such as IBM and Lockheed Martin, the two largest companies in the Southern Tier. I had no idea where life would take me, but kept moving along and working to the best of my ability. It’s interesting how many people in this area depend so much on these large companies, they plan on working for 30+ years in a cubicle and retire with a pension and their 401K savings. They purchase homes, cars and live a lifestyle above their means, not knowing what the future holds for these companies and themselves.

In 2009, Lockheed Martin performed a huge lay off, one that was never given in the history of the company in Owego, NY. Many people had to relocate and find jobs elsewhere and up route their families because there were no jobs in the local area.

So, Who’s Hiring in Binghamton – Where to Go? You can take a look at the classified ads on the Press and Sun Bulletin and many other websites online, but in reality, there are not many high paying jobs unless you want to go into the Health Field.

This area is a great area to raise a family, the schools are great, there are many family attractions. Although, the jobs that exist in Binghamton are mostly all temporary positions. The most I have seen here are manufacturing companies that start off with paying the employees $8.00 an hour to perform hard labor and these jobs are the most stressful jobs.

If you are searching for a job in this local area, I would think about finding a job that will allow you to work from home. Unfortunately most of the jobs in this area that will allow you to do that are these large companies and you must have a degree to do this with. According to the Statistics in government data, the average salary for jobs in Binghamton is $25,894.

When I came to the realization that life is too short to sit in a cubicle for 8+ hours and that I could no longer depend on a weekly salary that soon would be terminated because the company was reorganizing, merging and making huge changes that would impact myself and the entire community. The southern tier depends on these major corporations to bring business to the area. Unfortunately because of the economy and the government, these companies are making changes like no other. So I decided to move on and begin searching for a business online that I can operate from home.

Be open minded and invest in a company online that will help you succeed in learning online marketing so that you can earn a great income sitting in the comfort of your home. If are looking into the local paper and other classified ads online to find another job locally, remember these companies at some point may join the others who are laying off and then you will have to continue your search once again, maybe even out of the area and why would you want to up route your family from such a great place to raise your kids. Instead of searching the local classified, invest your time in locating job opportunities online.
